Dr. Jack Lach

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I just wanted to post this so we could all keep Jack in our thoughts and prayers. His mom passed on Sunday. Here’s the obit from CJ.

LACH, JOSEPHINE ROMAINE “JOSIE,” 93, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at Audubon Hospital.

She was born in Scranton, PA, and was a retired registered nurse, graduating from the Scranton State University School of Nursing. Josie was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of Pope John XXIII Council of the Knights of Columbus. She was so proud of the fact that she was the center on the first female basketball team in the state of Pennsylvania.

Her husband, John A. Lach, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Janice Longmeyer (John) and Dr. John Lach, Jr.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her Eucharistic Minister, Connie Luscher, who became a very special friend and her caregiver, Loretta Coogle.

The family would also like to say special thanks to the wonderful people in the Transitional Care Unit at Audubon Hospital and also to Dr. Rick Lawson.

The funeral Mass will be held at noon Thursday at St. Agnes Church, 1920 Newburg Road, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady’s Rosary Makers, 4611 Poplar Level Road or Masses for the deceased.
