Benefit Saturday for Tornado Victims
Kacey Jones, singer, songwriter, comedian, and dear friend of our club president Carrie, is donating the proceeds from her show this coming Saturday to TWO wonderful organizations that are helping Kentucky and Indiana tornado victims. Let’s “Party with a Purpose” as the Parrothead club motto says and really have a good turnout for such a fabulous cause so close to home. If you can’t make it, please feel free to pass this along to anyone that may be interested.
Here’s info on the show described below:

Hi Carrie,
Sorry to take this long to reply to your message, I’ve been on the phone and the computer all day but, the good news is…my concert this Saturday night at Uncle Slayton’s is going to benefit TWO wonderful organizations that are helping Kentucky and Indiana tornado victims. Please scroll downto read the letter/press release that I’ll be sending out tomorrow and, by all means, please feel free to forward this message to anyone and everyone in your area who is interested in helping us!
Thanks, Carrie!

My Dear Friends,
I’ve been very lucky to have escaped nearly unscathed from several natural disasters in my lifetime, including the Northridge, CA earthquake in 1994. I awoke that morning to find my apartment building still intact but, the one across the street from me was devastated. As I write this, there are hundreds of people in Kentucky and Indiana wishing they would’ve had that same kind of luck. But they didn’t. They are without shelter, without water, without enough food to eat. For that reason, and after talking with Special Event Planner, Loren Hill, of the Salvation Army Louisville Area Command, and also with Chairperson Edith Mae Flowers, of the Ford Motor Company Kentucky Truck Plan Community Services (UAW Local 862), I’ve decided to donate the proceeds from my show at Uncle Slayton’s this Saturday night to these organizations, both of which are working around the clock to provide blankets, bottled water, canned goods, and clothing to those in need.
For those who can attend my concert Saturday night at Uncle Slayton’s in Louisville, Kentucky (www.uncleslaytons.com) thank you for being a part of something we can do together to help. For those who live outside the area and cannot attend the show, thank you, in advance for whatever you’re able to donate. Here is a direct link to the United Auto Workers Local 862 Kentucky Truck Plant Community Services with instructions on how to donate via their web site: http://www.uaw862.org/2012%
To donate to the Salvation Army Louisville Area Command go to: www.sa-lou.org and click the donate link. Text to give, Text “STORM” to 80888 or, you may send a check payable to Salvation Army Louisville Area Command to: PO Box 1149 Louisville, KY 40201. Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Kacey Jones
